Free YouTube tools for creators, brands and fans
These tools answer the questions people ask about a channel or a video: how much it earns, whether it can be monetized, what a sponsorship is worth, how engaged its viewers are, how it compares with another channel, when it posts, which tags a video uses, where a video is blocked, and who wins a comment giveaway. Each one is free, needs no account and starts empty: paste a link or type a number, and nothing you enter is stored.
Where the numbers come from
- YouTube data comes from the official YouTube Data API: public subscriber counts, views, likes, comments, publish times, tags, region restrictions and comments. Where a tool uses another source, it names it. We do not scrape YouTube.
- Rates and rules, such as RPM by niche, the YouTube Partner Program thresholds or sponsorship rates, come from named, dated sources that each tool links to. Where a figure is an estimate, the tool says so and shows a range rather than one number.
- What is not public stays unknown. Real earnings, watch hours and whether ads are switched on are only visible to the channel owner in YouTube Studio, and the tools say so instead of guessing.
Which tool do I need?
- To estimate what a channel or video makes, use the money calculator; for the formula alone, the CPM and RPM calculator.
- To see if a channel can be in the Partner Program, use the monetization checker.
- To price a brand deal, use the sponsorship rate calculator together with the engagement rate calculator.
- To size up another channel, compare channels, check its upload schedule or watch its live subscriber count.
- For a single video, check its tags, region restrictions or dislikes, or pick a comment winner.
- Before you publish, check your thumbnail size, preview it in the feed, test your title length and get the right bitrate.
- For your channel, check if an @handle is free, see how many views you need in the watch hours calculator, and compare yourself with the most subscribed channels.
- For a giveaway, draw from a stream with the live chat picker, or paste comments into the Instagram or TikTok comment picker.
- For Shorts, estimate what they pay with the Shorts money calculator, split a channel into Shorts, long videos and live streams with the Shorts analyzer, open a Short as a normal video with the Shorts to video converter, check a file with the Shorts checker, see what the player covers with the Shorts safe zone, get a Shorts thumbnail, or block Shorts altogether.
PlaylistTime also has time tools for viewers: the playlist length calculator, channel length, watch time, timestamp links and the upload time checker.
