This tool sorts any public or unlisted YouTube playlist by video length. Paste the link, press Calculate, and the video list is already sorted longest first. Switch to shortest first or back to the original order with the Sort menu above the list. You also get the total length of the playlist, the time at any speed and thumbnails for every video.
How to sort a YouTube playlist by duration
- Copy the playlist link from YouTube (it contains
list=). - Paste it above and press Calculate.
- Use the Sort menu to choose Longest first or Shortest first. Click any title to open that video in the playlist.
What YouTube's own sort can do
On your own playlists, YouTube's Sort menu orders videos by date added, date published, popularity or by hand. There is no option to sort a playlist by duration or video time, and playlists made by others cannot be re-sorted at all. That is why sorting by length happens here instead: the order on YouTube does not change.
